Timodine

Timodine is an anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal cream typically used for skin infections, allergic reactions, itchy skin rashes, and itchy reactions to bites. It may also be used for skin irritation and other conditions not listed in this guide. The standard 30g Timodine cream contains a combination of Benzalkonium chloride, hydrocortisone, dimeticon, and nystatin. The combination of these four active ingredients works to eliminate skin issues in a number of ways. Additionally, the Dimeticone is a water-repellant fluid which stops the skin from absorbing moisture, helping to reduce the growth of fungi.

Infections treated with Timodine may include candida interigo, nappy rash, eczema, and more. There are multiple substances included in Timodine to make it effective, including Hydrocortisone, a topical corticosteroid, Benzalkonium, an antiseptic, Nystatin, an antifungal, and Dimeticone, a water-repellant fluid.

When your doctor prescribes a substance like Timodine, he or she will also give you instructions on how you should be using it. It's important to take your doctor's advice seriously. Usually, this medicine will be applied directly to the problematic or inflamed area of skin.

If you accidentally swallow this medicine, contact your doctor immediately. Timodine can cause diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and other issues.

Timodine comes in a 30mg tube. Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the usual dose for adults and children is a single "thin" layer applied to the affected area of skin three times each day. Young children and adults using this medication should carefully follow the instructions of their doctor. If you miss a dose of Timodine, apply it on the next scheduled application. Do not use extra medication to make up for the missed dose. If you apply Timodine at the same time as other skin medications, leave several minutes before applying the next treatment.

A fingertip length of cream should generally be enough for a single inflamed area. The thin covering will be enough to have the desired effects.

Risks of significant side effects when using Timodine are very low. However, there is a chance that you may experience negative outcomes when using Timodine cream. The side effects listed here are possible but will not occur in all cases. Additionally, this is not necessarily a full list of side effects. If you experience any negative outcomes when using Timodine, make sure that you seek the advice of your doctor immediately, and stop using the medication until you know more.

Possible side effects include:

• Allergic contact dermatitis
• Vomiting
• Paralysis of respiratory muscles
• Convulsions
• Restlessness
• Muscular weakness
• Dyspnoea

Timodine cream can, in very rare circumstances, lead to severe allergic reactions. If you notice side effects like itching, rashes, or trouble breathing, contact a doctor immediately. Seek emergency help if you experience any swelling in the face, neck, or jaw. Some people taking Timodine will experience minor skin irritation when the cream is applied. You might notice instances of itching, stinging, redness, or irritation. If these problems occur, or persist, stop using Timodine, and see your doctor.

If Timodine is used for excessive periods of time underneath dressings or applied to raw skin and large areas of skin, it can also cause additional side-effects common with topical steroids. For instance, you may experience loss of pigmentation, hair growth, stretch marks, or skin thinning. These outcomes are very rare with a mild steroid such as Timodine

As a relatively mild form of medication, Timodine will be perfectly safe for most people to use. However, it will not be appropriate for all patients. Before you begin using Timodine, it is important to discuss your options carefully with your doctor and discuss all of your current medications in detail. Make sure that your doctor is aware if you are allergic to any of the ingredients included in Timodine. You should also consult your doctor before taking Timodine if you are suffering from a fungal infection in your lungs. Timodine should be used without any plasters or dressings over the cream, and it is important to avoid using machinery or driving if you feel dizzy when using this medication. Timodine is not appropriate to be used by people who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Take special care using Timodine for long periods of time, as this can reduce its effectiveness. You should also not use this substance on broken or raw skin without the insight of your doctor. If you need to continue using medications at the same time on the same area of the skin as you are applying Timodine, leave plenty of time between applications to stop the substances from mixing. Tell your doctor if you are taking any vitamins or herbal supplements when using this substance.

There are various forms of medication that may interact with Timodine, including:

• Amobarbital
• Ascorbic acid
• Aminoglutethimide
• Amphotericin B
• Carbamazepine
• Dextranomer
• Carboxymethylcellulose
• Furosemide
• Gentamicin

In some cases, it's possible for Timodine to interact negatively with aspirin. Avoid using aspirin unless your doctor tells you that you can do otherwise. If you want to apply moisturizers or powders after using Timodine, make sure that you wait at least thirty minutes before or after using Timodine.
